The 2023 season of carnations, cupid, and conversation hearts is finally here! East Side News writers wondered how East celebrates Valentine’s Day, so we sent out a survey that covered it all.

October is a big month for the music department - the first concerts in the auditorium since December 2019 are scheduled to take place for band, orchestra, and chorale.

Unity in Diversity is a cultural club started in 1995 at East. Through this club, the students of East can showcase their culture and appreciate the cultures of their peers through various cultural performances like dances, music, martial arts, etc.

The Williamsville East high school girls varsity tennis team had a wonderful season this year. With a draw of tough opponents and hard games, they managed to place second in their division, barely losing to Clarence by one match. While the entire team didn’t get to go to states, ECICS arrived and some of their star players managed to beat everyone else in the tournament.

This spring, Williamsville East is welcoming its first season of Girls’ Flag Football. This exciting development provides female football fans the opportunity to take the field and play the sport they love.

Similarly to Homecoming which the student council organized in September, next week there will be a spirit week. Advisor Mrs Mahaney says “This week is meant to appreciate a different aspect of East that we love.”
