East’s Side-by-Side Concerts: A Collaboration With Transit

East’s band and orchestra had their annual side-by-side concert with the 7th and 8th graders from Transit Middle School. The shows were a resounding success and hopefully inspired some of our future students to keep pursuing music.

Success for the Student-Led Afghan Refugee Donation Drive

Earlier this year, the Biden Administration delayed the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan to September 11th. Mentions of the withdrawal date all the way back to the Obama Administration, but it was only finalized this September. Many fears arose that the Taliban would regain control, and these fears became reality on the days leading up to August 15th, when Taliban fighters took control of the Afghan presidential palace in Kabul.

We may go days without seeing this person, but this person takes good care of all of us behind the scenes. Any paper copy a student is given goes through IMC. In that room, the person who is in charge, Gail Lang, handles most of the copies.

Earlier this year, the Biden Administration delayed the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan to September 11th. East students led the donation drive for household items that will be used in welcome kits for the incoming evacuees.

On Tuesday, May 25th, and Friday, May 28th, let’s celebrate this achievement by wearing the colors that represent our greatest Source of Strength that has carried us through.

2021-22 Starts Strong with Homecoming

During Homecoming week, students showed their East pride by decorating the halls with a sea of red and gold. Seniors showed up in their best attire for the Homecoming Kickoff Assembly, where the Homecoming Court nominees were announced.

Having constant access to grades is an universal experience here at the Williamsville Central School District. However, is this system truly beneficial for learning, or is it a detriment? In this article, I interviewed several students to get a better understanding of how students feel about this system within the wall-less halls of East. As it turns out, opinions vary wildly among students.
