East’s Winter Favorites
With Christmas break being around the corner, the holiday season has arrived. As decorations and excitement go around at East, our community certainly has their winter favorites. The East Side News is proud to present our second survey of the year, solely revolving around the wonders of “the most wonderful time of the year.” With such a diverse crowd of students, here are some of the ways our community perceives the wonders of winter.

East Rallies in Support Against Gender-Based Violence During 16 Days of Activism
Gender-based violence is one of the most prevalent human rights violations in the world and affects 35% of women worldwide. This alarming statistic eventually led to the creation of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, an annual international campaign started by the Women’s Global Leadership Institute in 1991. It starts on November 25th and ends on International Human Rights Day, December 10th.

The Wonderful Whirlwind of Winterfest
What is a full-blown Winterfest like? Ask a senior. They’re in the only class that already knows. For the first time since 2019, the music wing will be performing in front of a full audience for about two hours and sections are playing all together instead of six feet apart.

Our First Coffeehouse of the Year: A Review
The East Side News is proud to declare our first Coffeehouse of the year a success! The event took place on the evening of December 2nd in the Commons with the theme Brinner (Breakfast for Dinner). For those of you who unfortunately could not make it, let’s take a look back at a night of excitement and energy!
Bagel Wednesdays
The Class of 2026 is selling bagels every Wednesday from 7:00 to 7:45 AM in the Commons.
