FBLA has been thriving and giving students a chance to let their voices be heard in the business world. Mrs Mauro, who has been club advisor for 13 years, believes the main purpose of FBLA is to learn more about business through competition and networking. There are 70 different events in FBLA where the local competitions are at Williamsville East, States at Rochester, and Nationals will be held in San Antonio, Texas this year. When asked about her favorite  memory Mrs. Mauro said, “When I won FBLA advisor of the year, WCSD advisor of the year,  and FBLA chapter of the year in New York,  all in 2018.”

Suhrat Islam the club president for the past 2 years expressed her joy for FBLA. She loves the competition and being able to compare herself to other schools in the area. For her most memorable moment she stated, “It had to be Freshman year when I got first place in an event I thought I had no shot of winning.”

Cam Mauro is a member of FBLA. He’s had amazing experiences being a part of FBLA. He couldn’t be more thankful for the new experiences, adventures, and friendships he made since joining the club. His favorite event hands down was the “Sports Marketing event in Rochester.” He recommends all underclassmen to try out this club and that the positives couldn’t be more rewarding.

FBLA has been a staple in the Williamsville East community for decades. Students have achieved and excelled in this club, but have also made lifelong friends. Business is a topic that everyone should know about. FBLA is the perfect opportunity to take advantage of. Even if you don’t want to go to events and do all of the activities, you can be a non-active member, but still be able to put FBLA down on your transcript. If you sound like you want to give this a shot, let Mrs. Mauro know and become a member!
