CJ Stroud was the number two overall pick in the NFL Draft. The only player taken ahead of him was Bryce Young. These two guys were 1a and 1b. They were both equally hyped; however, in the end, the Panthers’ owner made a gutsy call and drafted Bryce Young. Early in the preseason, this looked like a million bucks. Stroud didn’t look like he could really figure out where to place the ball and things weren’t really going his way. However, sitting over halfway through the season, Stroud looks as if one day he will be the best QB in the league and the guy drafted in front of him looks like a distant memory.

Bryce Young has been a disaster in Carolina, but it isn’t his fault, is it? Here’s the deal: Bryce Young is on the worst team football has seen in a long time. He has no weapons, no real coach, and nothing but his skill set. He isn’t the issue in Carolina. Bryce Young should hit the reset button in his future to focus on his game and getting better; obviously, someone will give him a shot to be great. It would be so cool to see him unleash his potential, but it won’t be in Carolina. He will never have the weapons he needs there, so someone in a few years will scoop him up and he will probably change his career path. For now, though, the Panthers will be known as the team who made a horrific mistake.

CJ is the opposite of Bryce Young in most ways. For starters, he has become one of the best QBs in the NFL already and my personal pick for MVP this season so far because his team is pretty bad but he has a few things going for him. He has a good coach and a great, young wide receiver. Everything else is mediocre at best. He seems like he however is on the path to becoming the face of the NFL and that’s very cool. Stroud is a baller and he obviously would be a great fit for any NFL team as we can all agree he is a generational talent in this league. The Panthers should have taken Stroud, but the owner just had to take Young and make a horrible mistake.
