James Corden, English comedian, actor, and television host of the “Late Late Show,” appeared in a recent altercation involving a well-known restaurant in New York City called Balthazar. Keith McNally, the owner, stated that Corden was “the most abusive customer to my Balthazar servers since the restaurant opened 25 years ago.” James Corden’s behavior throughout a brunch at Balthazar consisted of yelling at waiters, hinting at writing bad reviews, and complaining about service. McNally banned Corden from Balthazar due to his allegedly uncouth behavior. Six hours later, Corden called Keith McNally to apologize for his lack of manners, and McNally excused his attitude, saying he believed strongly in second chances. Afterwards, James Corden addressed the situation and referred to it as being “silly.” McNally responded harshly to Corden’s words by writing on his Instagram, “…when James Corden said in yesterday’s NY Times that he hadn’t done ‘anything wrong, on any level,’ was he joking? Or was he denying being abusive to my servers? Whatever Corden meant, his implication was clear: he didn’t do it.” McNally also adds that his staff “had nothing to gain by lying” about the situation; however, “Corden did. I wish James Corden would live up to his Almighty initials and come clean.” McNally ends off with saying if he apologizes to the two servers, he’ll let Corden eat for free for the next ten years.
