The East Musical is near for all to hear! This year, our much anticipated musical will be Seussical, a combination of Dr. Seuss stories. The cast was carefully picked by our chorus teacher, Mrs. Reilly. There are many different parts for this musical. Below is the cast list, which includes many characters including: the Cat in the Hat, Horton, the Grinch, Yertle the Turtle, and the Whos. The overall quality of the auditions for all the roles was very high. “It was more competitive than most years, with a lot of talent shown by the students,” said Mrs. Reilly, “I had to make some very difficult decisions.” Only sixty-two students including the ten middle schoolers were picked out of more than seventy talented and determined students, not a high percentage considering that most students were very promising.
The cast includes Eli Toren, a new student this year at East with a leading role, and ten Transit students. Eli is a sophomore who moved from Miami, Florida with a lead part as the Cat in the Hat. The Transit students included on the list below recently performed Seussical Jr. at their school and have auditioned for the East version, joining the cast as Whos.
Congratulations to those who made the cast this year and to all who auditioned! It doesn’t matter who ended up triumphant at the end; the effort and positive attitude is what truly matters.
The musical will be on February 6th, 7th, and 8th at 7:00PM in the East Auditorium. Hope to see you all there!
