Aubrey Drake Graham, a renowned artist known for his diverse musical style, has consistently shaped the landscape of modern hip-hop and R&B. His discography spans over a decade, showcasing his growth as a performer, lyricist, and cultural influencer. Here is an opinionated ranking of his top ten albums based on impact, consistency, and musical quality.

  1. 1.) Nothing was the Same (2013)

“Nothing was the Same” is arguably the most thrilling and defining album, pushing every mood to extremes. While some argue that “Take Care” is better due to its emotional depth and groundbreaking blend of rap and R&B, “Nothing was the Same” transports you into Drake’s personal universe, a space where you, ultimately, feel free. Tracks like “Hold On, We’re Going Home” create a dreamlike atmosphere, making you feel as though you’re floating through your own world, forgetting about anything that’s happening in the real world.

  1. 2.) Take Care (2011)

“Take Care”, Drake’s big creative breakthrough in the industry with hit-after-hit, showcases a deeper side of the artist. Take Care invites you into his emotions, exploring love, heartbreak, and personal growth. Songs like Marvin’s Room and Headlines juxtapose in a way that makes the experience feel both connected and reflective. Where Nothing Was the Same thrills with atmosphere and mood, Take Care resonates with the heart, leaving a lasting impact long after the music fades.

  1. 3.) Views (2016)

Drake’s “Views” captures his peak of mainstream dominance, with bangers such as “One Dance” and “Controlla”. This album dedicated to Toronto (as seen with the album cover) seamlessly showcases Drake’s ability to merge the different music genres of hip-hop and R&B. Although some people believe that the album was uneven and incomplete, it demonstrates Drake’s skill in balancing personal storytelling with public appeal making it one of the most defining projects of his career.

  1. 4.) Certified Lover Boy (2021)

Certified Lover Boy sees Drake returning to familiar themes of love, fame, and self-reflection with a much more confident, polished sound. This album blends tracks such as “Champagne Poetry” with powerful hits like “N 2 Deep”, showcasing his wide range of style. Collaborations with artists like Lil Baby, Future, and Travis Scott add dynamic energy, while songs like “Girls Want Girls” highlight Drake’s exploration of relationships in modern culture. Although it may not break new ground compared to Take Care or Nothing Was the Same, Certified Lover Boy reinforces Drake’s enduring ability to craft chart-topping hits while staying emotionally resonant.

  1. 5.) More Life (2017)

More Life, a playlist full of surprises, pushes past the boundaries of rap. From the afrobeat vibes of “Passionfruit” to the introspective emotion of “Teenage Fever,” the album blends global sounds with his notable storytelling, highlighting Drake’s ability and willingness to experiment with new styles.
