It’s that time of year again: the annual Thanksgiving food drive has started at East, and it will run until November 17. The food drive provides an awesome opportunity to help hundreds of families in Western New York just by donating certain boxed and canned items. Items that can be donated include canned fruits and vegetables, boxed stuffing and potatoes, cranberry sauce, and boxed brownie mix. The Commons and main office are the two locations where the items can be dropped off.
As an incentive for donating, a tally is being counted to determine which grade has brought the most items. The grade that has brought in the most items for each designated week of the drive will win money for future class events. As of the November 9 tally, the sophomore class is leading the way with 142 cans, closely followed by the juniors with 137.
The annual Thanksgiving food drive that we hold at East is a fun and competitive way to offer help to families who may really need it. Please continue to donate, win money for your class, and support families all around WNY!
