This year’s 62nd Grammys brought us a slew of various artists, old and new from a wide variety of genres. All across the board every single nominee has incredibly well made music and discography that they represented in this year’s Grammys, let’s take a look at them.

We start off with Billie Eilish, who has been one of the most prominent figures in the industry and the world with her best selling album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? and one of her biggest tracks, “Bad Guy,” contributing to her full sweep. She won some of the biggest awards including Best New Artist, Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Vocal Album. The last and only other time such a musician achieved this full sweep was back in 1981 with Christopher Cross and his self titled EP.

Remaining in pop, another new and very much prevalent woman in the industry, Lizzo, won three awards (pop solo performance, urban contemporary album, traditional r&b performance) while also performing her highly performing tracks, “Good as Hell,” and the powerful “Truth Hurts.” Lil Nas X wins Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for his track “Old Town Road” with his Billy Ray Cyrus feature, a mesh between a classic country master and a young hip hop star which was certainly well deserved while at the same time being a very close decision. With albums such as Norman F****** Rockwell by Lana Del Rey, her most recent album since Lust for Life back in 2017, “7 Rings” by Ariana Grande from her amazingly produced album Thank U, Next, and indie icon Bon Iver with I,I, an album that follows his sound from previous albums For Emma, Forever Ago (2007) and Bon Iver, Bon Iver (2011) while still intriguing the listener every single time, and many more critically acclaimed artists.

This year has also had its fair share of amazing performances. Lizzo opened the night with a dynamic performance with two of her hits, the emotional and theatrical ballad “Cuz I Love You,” and the hard hitting and empowering “Truth Hurts” rocked the stage from the very start. Demi Lovato has an emotional performance performing her piano accompanied “Anyone.” Alicia Keys alongside famed group Boyz II Men performs a tribute to Kobe Bryant who unfortunately passed away mere days prior to the event. Tyler the Creator, who also won his very first Grammy with his record breaking album, Igor, performed his hit track “EARFQUAKE”. Another one of  the noted performances was of Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road,” which had a multitude of features such as famed K-pop group BTS, Diplo, Mason Ramsey, and of course, Billy Ray Cyrus who featured on the chart topping track, as well as rapper Nas who had a verse in a remix of Lil Nas X’s “Rodeo”. Another tribute was performed that night alongside Kobe Bryant. DJ Khaled, Meek Mill, YG, John Legend, and Roddy Rich all came together for the tribute to rapper Nipsey Hussle, who tragically died earlier this year. Other exceptional performances occurred from Camila Cabello, H.E.R., Cyndi Lauper, Gary Clark Jr., and Rosalia.

This is of course, not a complete rundown of the 62nd Grammy’s, though it would be impossible to list all of the great aspects about this year’s show. Like each year, it consisted of amazing performances, memorable red carpet appearances, and heart-warming acceptance speeches. This year has for sure been exceptional.
