The week before Thanksgiving break, Sources of Strength sponsored a “Fall Colors Week” to raise awareness for the positive sources of strengths we have in our lives! Prior to this spirit week, the Sources of Strength Peer Leaders got together to plan different ways to incorporate the SOS wheel into a spirit week. Many posters and planning meetings later, here is what took place over the weeks!

Monday, November 13th was “Mentor Monday” with the objective of wearing green to show the presence of trusted adults and mentors in your life.

Tuesday, November 14th was “Together Tuesday” with the objective to wear orange to show the presence of family support in our lives. This could be our biological family or chosen family.

Wednesday, November 15th was “Wholesome Wednesday” with the objective to wear purple to show the importance of spirituality in our lives. Spirituality comes in all forms and is not limited to just religion! You can find spirituality in your life through many things such as yoga, breathing exercises, meditation, services, prayers, etc.

Thursday, November 16th was “Thankful Thursday” with the objective to dress like someone you are thankful for to demonstrate your generosity!

Friday, November 17th was “Bills Blue Friday” with the objective to wear Bills gear or blue to show support for healthy activities in our lives!

Monday, November 20th was “Mental Health Monday” with the objective to wear red to show the equal importance of mental health in our lives!

Tuesday, November 21st, was “Twinning Tuesday” with the objective to twin with a positive friend in your life or wear yellow to show you have positive friends!

Overall, this campaign was a success with many students participating throughout the school! The purpose of raising a sense of community within the school was fulfilled, and we hope to continue to remind others the importance of different sources of strengths in their lives! Remember, at East, you are not alone!
