Meet Garrett Speller

Hi, I’m Garrett, editor-in-chief for the East Side Newspaper. I’m a senior here, and despite feeling the wide-reaching symptoms of senioritis, I occasionally do things. I run cross country here at east, and I’m (sometimes/maybe) on the varsity team(?). I’m also musical on occasion, playing viola in symphonic orchestra, singing in chorale, and participating in ABC bel canto, which is an extracurricular choir. I loiter around in FBLA (mostly just for the trips), and I’ve been known to produce some spectacularly cringeworthy poetry, which has been featured in the district poetry festivals since I’ve been in 6th grade. Another one of my traits is that I hate talking/writing about myself, so this is going to be short and sweet (or just short). All in all, I’m happy to be on the newspaper staff this year, but I’m still only here for the bagels.
