This December, Girl Up asked East to help send cards to share some festive cheer and show our community’s generosity toward those in need. We set a goal of 385 cards to send to the residents and staff at Buffalo City Mission’s Cornerstone Manor. Thanks to everyone who participated, we were able to pass our goal with flying colors!
A nice gesture goes a long way in brightening someone’s day
The talent and compassion that went into making the cards blew us away. Our advisor Mrs. Fey-Daly says she was covered in glitter after organizing the cards. Thank you so much for all the thought and effort you committed to this project!
Our grand total was 1050 beautiful cards! This meant we easily covered Cornerstone Manor, allowing us to send the rest of the cards to Courage of Carly, an organization for pediatric cancer patients.
We are so grateful for all the students, faculty, and loved ones who helped us spread some light in our community this holiday season after we’ve all experienced a tough year. We look forward to making this a tradition and doing it again next year with a few additions! If you’re interested in joining the club, contact Mrs. Fey-Daly, Amanda Ojeda, @wehsgirlup on Instagram, or myself. Happy Holidays and thank you for your support!
