The 2014 District 12 FBLA Spring District Meeting was held on Saturday, February 1, from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM, at Bryant and Stratton College in Orchard Park. District elimination events for the State Leadership Conference in April were administered since there were no local exams this year. Performance events included, Impromptu Speaking, Public Speaking I and II, Basic Decision Making, Client Service, and Job Interview, and written events consisted of Parliamentary Procedure, Future Business Leader, and the State Officer Exam. Our chapter, District 12, includes Tonawanda High School, Clarence Central High School, Williamsville East High School, Springville-Griffith Institute High School, and Eden Junior-Senior High School, but only Eden, Williamsville East, and Clarence were in attendance at the event. Junior Kevin Stone says, “I’m looking forward to this event because it will help me get a feel of things so I can do well at states.” Â FBLA members are very excited for the upcoming State Leadership Conference, especially for the two dances that will be held as downtime between competitions. It’s a good opportunity for members to get some experience, meet new people from all over New York State, and gain a competitive edge.
