picture6Summer is over, but that only means that new television series are starting.  There are many shows that are continuing on for a new season, but there are also brand new shows airing that deserve a watch.

So, a couple of shows that premiered in the past few months are Stranger Things on Netflix, Atlanta on FX, Better Things on FX, and The Get Down on Netflix.  It’s not too late to get caught up with the trend, and by that I mean get caught up with Stranger Things, so get to it!

A couple of comedies that are getting a lot of buzz include Man With A Plan premiering on October 24th at 8:30 pm on CBS and Kevin Can Wait premiering on September 19th at 8:30 pm on CBS.  Man With A Plan star’s Friends star Matt LeBlanc who plays a contractor who is trying to spend more time with his kids and family.  Kevin Can Wait stars Kevin James as a retired police officer trying to spend more time with his family but finds that it’s more difficult than it looks.  These are two comedies that sound very similar, but Kevin James and Matt LeBlanc are two different actors who will bring different styles to their shows.

If you love a good horror movie, then try a horror TV show as well because TheExorcist is premiering on FOX on September 23rd at 9:00 pm. This is a movie adaptation starring Geena Davis.  There are a couple of mixed feelings going around about this show, but the majority seems to have high hopes.

Speaking of movie adaptations, Lethal Weapon is being turned into a TV show starring Damon Wayans and Clayne Crawford. It premieres on FOX on September 21st at 8:00 pm.

On the other hand, if you are looking for strange, try the Son of Zorn premiering on FOX on September 25th at 8:30 pm.  It’s pretty much Jason Sudeikis voicing He-Man who just happens to be Cheryl Hines’ ex-husband.  Try it out.

A couple other shows to try out are Timeless premiering on October 3rd at 10:00 pm on NBC about time travelers trying to stop a bad guy from changing the past.  It sounds cliché, but who knows, it may turn out to be good.  If you love Scandal, you have to try Conviction premiering on ABC October 3rd at 9:00pm starring Hayley Atwell from Agent Carter.  And then there’s No Tomorrow on the CW starting October 4th at 9:00 pm which is a romantic comedy with a apocalypse twist.  It doesn’t get more original than that.  Well, yes it does, but you get it.

But probably the most anticipated TV show of the fall has to be This Is Us on NBC premiering on September 20th at 10:00 pm. If you loved Parenthood, then you will apparently love this show as well. It stars Mandy Moore, Jess Mariano, and Chris Darden in lead roles in this dramedy that features multiple story lines that eventually cross paths.
