Upcoming School Spirit Days

-

By Colleen Meosky

One of the numerous changes to this school year was having no homecoming week in September. However, the student council decided to organize school spirit events for when the kids in the hybrid instructional model return to East. It is set up so both cohorts A and B will be able to experience the same spirit days.

Senior Dress Up/Sea of Red and Gold

For the final week of October, Monday and Thursday will be designated for East pride. Seniors will be dressing up while the underclassmen wear East’s red and gold!

Happy Halloween!

On Tuesday and Friday, students are invited to wear their Halloween costumes! Student council is once again hosting their Halloween costume contest! Students should send in pictures of their costume to either the student council twitter(@willeastcouncil) or their Instagram account(@willeastcouncil). Prizes will be awarded to the winners!

Class T-Shirt Day

Monday(11/2) and Thursday(11/5) will be the time to show your class pride! Wear your class T-shirt and keep an eye out on WITS for instructions on shirt pick-ups.

America Day

Wear your red, white, and blue on Tuesday(11/3) and Friday(11/6)!

East is hosting its annual Thanksgiving food drive for the Turkey Basket project once again. The class with the most donations earns $200 so be sure to bring in canned goods, boxed desserts, boxed mashed potatoes, or boxed stuffing! You are also still able to order an East planner for $7 or a Carry the Torch shirt for $10 and can pick them up in the commons on Wednesdays.

Disguised As Check Fraud

This past weekend, a video went viral on TikTok, showing what appeared to be an easy way to get "free" money through a Chase Bank ATM glitch. The so-called "hack" involved writing yourself a check, depositing it, and immediately withdrawing a large sum of money. The video attracted many people, promising a quick and easy way to get rich. However, this so-called hack was nothing more than check fraud.
