Raya and the Last Dragon

Release date: March 5, 2021

Genre: Fantasy 

This Disney animated film is one for the family. It is set in a fantasy place named Kumandra where humans and dragons lived in harmony but when sinister monsters called the Druun threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity and 500 years later, they returned. Follow the main character Raya in her adventure to stop the Druun for good.

Black Widow

Release date: May 7, 2021

Genre: Action/adventure

Black Widow (based on the marvel comics) is an American superhero film which is all about Natasha Romanoff and her trying to make up for what she had done in the past with saving the world from assassins. A deadly assassin is closing in on her and she must reunite with a group of spies in her past to try and survive and make sure the world is safe from a lethal force.

Godzilla vs. Kong

Godzilla and Kong- the ferocious monsters- come back and fight in an epic battle while humanity tries to find a way to get rid of them once and for all. Who will win this battle? Godzilla, Kong, or humanity?

Cruella

Cruella is a live-action remake of the popular 1961 Disney animated film “One Hundred and One Dalmatians”. It features Emma Stone as Cruella De Vil, showing her side of the story of being one of the biggest and meanest villains in Disney history and how she only started off as a fashion designer.

Fast and Furious 9

Fast and furious 9 is an action film being the most recent addition to the Fast and Furious franchise, directed and co-written by Justin Lin with Daniel Casey. It is all about how Dominic Toretto and his family must face his younger brother Jakob who is a deadly assassin and stop him from working with their enemy Cipher who holds a personal vendetta against Dominic. 

Ghostbusters: Afterlife

Ghostbusters: Afterlife is a supernatural comedy set thirty years after the second film “Ghostbusters II”. It is all about a family (a single mom and her two kids) who moves to a small town and discovers their connection to the original Ghostbusters and their grandfather’s secret legacy.

In the Heights

This is a feature version of Lin-Manuel Miranda and Quiara Alegría Hudes’ first Tony Award-winning musical where a bodega owner has mixed feelings about whether he should close his store and how he retired to the Dominican Republic after inheriting his grandmother’s fortune. The story is set over the course of three days and shows the vibrant and largely Latino neighbourhood of Washington Heights (NYC).

“Venom: Let there be Carnage” is a superhero film and sequel to “Venom”. It is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. Matt Tolmach (the producer of both films) told CinemaBlend that this sequel will focus on the relationship between Eddie and Venom.

Minions: The Rise of Gru

This film is all about the rise of Gru and how he got from a 12 years old boy, dreaming to be the biggest supervillain to becoming the biggest supervillain! Gru- while doing so- makes an enemy of an elite group of supervillains (the vicious 6) after stealing their precious amulet and he has to try and get himself out of this sticky situation.

West Side Story

Release date: December 10, 2021

Genre: Musical/romance

“West Side Story” is an adaptation of the 1957 Broadway musical by Arthur Laurents, Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim. It is loosely based on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and is about two teenagers (Tony and Maria) who fall in love despite the fact they are from different street gangs who are rivals (the Jets and Sharks).
