Once again, awards season is upon us. It’s time to break out your evening gowns and roll out your red carpet. Coming up soon are the Screen Actors Guild Awards, and nominations for shows, movies, and actors have been released. Some of the shows and movies that have been nominated include Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, Avengers: Endgame, Joker, Ford vs. Ferrari, and The Walking Dead. Many great actors have been nominated for awards as well, some of them including Leonardo Dicaprio for Best Male Actor in a Leading Role, Scarlett Johansson for Best Female Actor in a Leading role, and Jennifer Aniston for Best Female Actor in a Drama series.

Here’s a run down on some of the shows and movies if you didn’t get a chance to watch them. Nominated for Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture, Joker is a movie that you will want to see. Have you ever wondered how the Joker became the mentally insane villain that we see in Batman movies? This movie shows how the Joker’s childhood hardships lead to the criminal mastermind that we see today.

Also nominated for Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture, Ford vs. Ferrari shows the battle between two car companies to win a car race. Tired of losing to Ferrari, Ford tries to create a race car that will be able to compete with Ferrari’s race car.

The popular sci-fi show, Stranger Things was nominated for Ensemble in a Drama Series. This show came out with its third season this past summer. In the first season, Will Byers goes missing. His friends and family have no idea where he went. Eleven, a girl who escaped a scientific testing lab, has psychological powers that may help Will’s friends find him.

While there have been many great nominations this year, it would not be an awards show without few snubs and surprises. Although the movie Little Women did well with critics, the new movie has yet to be nominated for awards. The movie was snubbed at the Golden Globes and yet again at the Screen Actors Guild nominations. Along with some snubs were some interesting surprises including Kathy Bates being accidentally nominated into a lead category instead of a supporting category in the movie Richard Jewell

Make sure you tune into the 2020 Screen Actors Guild Awards for an exciting award show on January 19, 2020 at 8:00 PM EST!
