As winter nears in Europe, the refugee crisis is ongoing. It continues to be haphazardly dealt with. Following the Paris attacks, as well as numerous other terrorist attacks, tensions have been high in the EU and internationally. This has lead to failure to effectively proceed in accommodating refugees. This lack of urgency only adds to fear for the refugees.
People of the Guardian and Observer, two British news organizations, are calling for a stronger response in Britain and in general. Especially now, as the winter months reach their coldest, the tens of thousands of refugees scattered throughout Europe have been forced to sleep in frigid conditions, leading to frostbite, scabies, bronchitis, and other terrible ordeals.
Furthermore, the lack of management of the refugee crisis is a target for terrorists and gangs, allowing for the selling of women and children into the sex, drug, and weapon trades. The situation throughout Europe and the Middle East remains urgent, and many remain adamant about providing safer passage of refugees. Many families have died trying to flee Syria and other war-torn countries. A mother lost her husband when they were fleeing Syria with their children to reach relatives in London. Ali al-Saho lost his seven children and wife while trying to take a boat from Syria to Europe.
It remains a top-priority that the refugee crisis be dealt with, while keeping the refugees themselves in mind. Despite outcries from fearful individuals, refugees continue to flee Syria and other nations plagued by war and Islamic extremism from ISIS.
