Students who were uninterested or unable to become a class officer this school year still had an opportunity to be a leader and represent their homerooms. President Alex Kwon, Vice President Grant Wang, Secretary Nathan Wan and Treasurer Katelyn Lee, are Williamsville East High School’s Student Council for the school year 23-24.

On 9/21, STUCO (student council) hosted their first Student Council Representative meeting in the auditorium, including each grade’s class officers and each grade’s homeroom reps. The purpose of these meetings is for the Student Council to share important information, which homeroom reps have to report back to their homerooms. Homeroom representatives are the link between the Student Council and the rest of the student body; their job is to advocate the thoughts and feelings of the students, so STUCO can meet their wishes.

Each homeroom representative must attend all of the meetings and must bring their ideas/feedback to the meetings. They are the voice for the student body and must be willing to share. They also are responsible for spreading news for upcoming events and affairs to the student body, so word gets around faster and everyone can become more aware.

More information can be found on WITS under the Student Council Club tab. Morning announcements in September will inform students every year when homeroom reps are required.
