Every fall, there is school. And every fall, there is the Stratford trip. Organized by the English department, it is a one-day trip up to the Stratford Festival to enjoy professional Shakespeare. Active since 1953, the festival has had international acknowledgement and has seen many famous actors playing roles on their stage, such as Christopher Plummer, William Shatner, and Maggie Smith. The outing typically lasts from early morning to 9PM–and it’s a lot of fun.
This year, on October 7th, a busload of East students will get to go see the famous A Midsummer Night’s Dream, complete with love quadrangle and otherworldly marital spats.
Though the plot may be quite cliche, the performance will certainly liven things up a bit. The official website states that it will be using haze, smoke, UV lights, and laser effects. If interested, get a form filled out from the English office and return it to Mrs. Catalano, in room 316. There are a handful of spots left.
