Looking for something vaguely ye Olde Englishe to do over the summer? Well, a great way to check that important note off of your bucket list is going to the really super duper cool Shakespeare in Delaware Park. Located in (obviously) Delaware Park, it’s a nice way to get in your Bard during your break. The two productions this year are Henry V (6/19~7/13) and The Comedy of Errors (7/24~8/17). All performances will be Tuesday through Sunday at 7:30 PM.

Henry V is pretty much your usual historic Shakespeare. Henry V, a cool young prince with a wild past, has to assume the throne after his father, King Henry IV. Since his drinking buddies were all known as drunkards and thieves, his ascent to the throne is a bit troubled with internal strife. Faced with complaints about the unsuitable nature of his kingship, he decides to divert the plebeian mind from the throne and go and invade France. As he does, Henry V grows into a strapping young king, capable of dealing justice even to his former friends. He even manages to gain a major victory at the Battle of Agincourt, in which the French surrender to the English. Henry also manages to snag a wife, Catherine of France, and the play ends quite happily, with peace negotiations and a marriage proposal.

On the other hand, The Comedy of Errors is a lighthearted comedy (betcha didn’t see that one coming), considered one of the Bard’s shortest and nonsensical plays. It involves, much like Twelfth Night, a set of twins. Unlike Twelfth Night, there are two sets of twins. Considering the confusion and mayhem that was in Shakespeariment’s production, Comedy of Errors has at least ten times the pandemonium.
