The first ever televised NBA All-Star draft took place February 7th, 2019. The leading vote-getters for the Eastern and Western conference, respectively, were Giannis Antetokounmpo and LeBron James. They serve as the captains of Team Giannis and Team LeBron. There was a pool of eight starters they had to pick from before choosing from the fourteen reserves.
