Most upperclassmen are already well aware of the benefits of visiting the math office. Although it’s sometimes intimidating to seek help with challenging math problems, the teachers and their assistance are extremely beneficial. Students such as Gemma Sofia Petrulla will vouch that “The math office has helped me countless times when a math problem was seemingly impossible.”  When you’re stuck on a tricky problem, some turn to YouTube videos, Khan Academy and some are even forced to invest in expensive private tutoring in order to thrive in difficult math courses. This can be important to some students that learn best using those strategies. However, an easy, cheaper method would simply be a quick visit to the math office.

Mrs. Yermas is one friendly face that is always happy to help around the math headquarters. It’s incredibly easy to find a teacher to assist you as Yermas states, “There’s always teachers in each free period ready to help!”. The math department and its set up is unique to east high school. We’re so lucky to have such generous teachers to push us to succeed.

Along with the math help, the math teachers are known to be very open and caring. Many show up to the office simply for personal advice and counseling. Math teachers like Mrs. Yermas, Mr. Meyer and others are always happy to help with inquiries related to mathematics, or not so much.

As an underclassmen, it is important to dip your feet in the water when it comes to getting help. Math only gets harder and your schedule through the grades will only feel heavier. Don’t miss out on extra help. We all need it sometimes!
