After the arrival of the amazing Mrs. Weber, the library is changing inside and out. With all the new displays and decorations stealing our attention, a new addition is going unnoticed: the guessing jar.

Every month, students will have the chance to guess the number of tokens in the jar at the front desk. The prize at stake: winning a $10 Starbucks gift card. Throughout the month, students can fill out a google form and document their guesses; at the end of the month, the closest guess wins. You can only guess once, and you can’t take out the tokens to get any measurements. Guesses are due by September 29th, and the winner—and amount—will be announced the following week. The number of tokens will change every month, so don’t rely on the previous number for help. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to any of the librarians.

Also coming to the library soon, stickers will be available for students to take; there’s no catch nor competition. A wide variety will be available, whether it’s dinosaurs or sayings, and you’re bound to find a sticker that you’d enjoy.  Please be mindful of how many you take, however, as these are all paid for by the librarians and so that others can have the chance to enjoy them too. Also, if you have any sticker sets that you have lying around without a use for, feel free to donate them to the library! Stay tuned for more information and to see when they will be available.

New prizes and games aren’t the only new additions to the library; the place is completely transformed with the new decor and displays. Books have been propped up on the bookshelf walls, the librarians’ desks have banners, bobble-heads and colorful art, and a new grass wall lined with butterflies can be found behind Mrs. Weber’s desk. Aside from the furnishings on the walls, newly themed book displays are layed out; currently standing is the Barbie display, and Halloween and many others to come.Â
