If you guys remember in my Logan review, I stated that were are living in a golden age of superhero movies, and 2017 has had a great start thanks to The LEGO Batman Movie and Logan, and now that trend continues with Marvel Studios’ 15th feature film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Set a few months after the first film, the Guardians travel throughout the cosmos and struggle to keep their newfound family together, while helping Star-Lord learn more about his true parentage.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is one of the rare sequels that’s arguably better than it’s predecessor and even one of their best next to The Avengers and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The story is packed with your usual Marvel dose of great jokes and intense action, and a surprising emotional punch. Every character, old and new, gets a good amount of screen time and extra development compared to how they were in the first film. Every actor brings their A game to each character notably Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel returning as Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Baby Groot, as well as Michael Rooker, Kurt Russell, and Pom Klementieff as Yondu, Ego, and Mantis. This movie is possibly one of the funniest films of the year next to The LEGO Batman Movie, with great jokes and lines that always hit bulls-eyes mostly coming from Drax and Rocket.

If you are a fan of Marvel, or you really liked the first film, this is a must watch you will have tons of fun. Even if you haven’t watched the first film, this movie is still highly enjoyable. Marvel Studios never ceases to disappoint and that winning streak continues as I give Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 a 10/10 with the frickin’ Edward’s Seal of Approval, only I didn’t use frickin’.
