The Harry Potter series has been one of the most loved movie series of our generation, and the wizarding world is about to continue with the release of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them on November 18, 2016. Starring Eddie Redmayne, the movie is a prequel/spin-off to the Harry Potter series and it was written by JK Rowling as her screenwriting debut. The movie is based off the 2001 book written by JK Rowling of the same title. The book is modeled to be a textbook written by Newt Scamander describing the character of each beast.
It is 1926 and Newt Scamander has just made a grave mistake as he unleashed a number of dangerous creatures and their habitats from his briefcase. Due to Scamander’s mistake the relations between Muggles and Wizards begin to strain. Although, they were already tense due to the presence of the New Salem Philanthropic Society, an extremist organization dedicated to the elimination of Wizards. As the authorities go after Newt he desperately tries to correct his mistake in order to restore order to the Wizarding, and Muggle, world.
Most exciting, the film takes place in New York City so fans will be able to experience the Wizarding World not only in a new era but in a new area. Fans have also been excited for beasts such as the Niffler and a new creature, the Swooping Evil. Although we see many connections with Harry Potter’s world. In the new trailer it was revealed that Scamander was expelled from Hogwarts but Dumbledore had not wanted such to happen.
As the excitement for the film builds it is all the fans can do to wait for November.
