Located in the corner of the commons near the red hallway lies East’s Commons Cafe. On select days and times, you can find clubs and classes selling a variety of foods. Without further ado, here is a list of all the tasty treats the Commons Cafe bears!
FBLA: Waffles
For $1.50 on certain days, you can get a waffle courtesy of FBLA. They are made and sold in the commons cafe and are customizable. For an extra $0.25, you can add toppings like whipped cream, chocolate chips, and chocolate syrup. The money goes to supporting FBLA endeavors. Information about the dates and times of the cafe can be found on the club’s instagram (@wehsfbla).
Junior Class: Panini Wednesdays
Every Wednesday, from period 9 and continuing after school, the junior class (class of 2024) sells paninis for $2.00. They feature a panini of the day, for example, buffalo chicken, as well as the classic ham and cheese. Just cheese is also available. The money goes to supporting the class of 2024.
Freshman Class: Bagel Wednesdays
Also on Wednesdays, this time in the morning before period 1 — 7:00 to 7:45 to be exact — the freshman class can be found behind the commons cafe counter selling bagels. The bagels come from Bagel Jay’s, and can be purchased for $1.00 each. A variety of flavors are featured, such as plain, everything, garlic, and strawberry. The money goes to supporting the class of 2026.
East Side News: Coffeehouse
On select days throughout the school year, the East Side News hosts a coffeehouse in the commons. Taking place in the evening, usually 7-9, coffeehouses feature a theme for the food — think desserts, breakfast for dinner, or Asian cuisine — as well as the open mic.
