DIY Movie-Inspired Costumes

As you all know, Halloween is at the end of the month and some of you are probably struggling to find a costume. So, here are some costume ideas that may assist you in your quest to find the perfect costume for you.

1. Katniss Everdeen:

I’m sure this has crossed many of your minds but if you’re thinking about going with that idea all you need is a leather jacket (preferably brown), boots, and of course a bow and arrow (preferably fake or else somebody will come after you).

2. Snow White and the Huntsman:

I’m not totally sure how popular this movie was but if you really want to be Snow White all you need is some armor, a shield, and a fake sword. It may cost  you but you’ll sure stick out.

3. Great Gatsby Flapper:

I mean if you weren’t already this for -ER day you still have a chance to make your teachers realize that you did actually listen to them in US History! All you need is a vintage 20s style dress, some kind of of headband or hat, big jewelry, some quality time with your makeup kit.

4. Shadowhunter:

Now this is a costume for guys and girls, but if you really have no clue what this is just skip to the next one. What you need for this costume is black clothing (if it’s leather then bonus points), fake weapons, and then draw runes on your arms and/or your neck depending on how far you want to go with it.

5. Abraham Lincoln:

Lincoln got double the love this year when his movie Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Killer came out and Lincoln. All you need for this costume is a nice suit, a top hat, a beard, and a fake axe depending on weather or not you go in that direction.

And if none of these work for you then you could always wear last year’s costume or buy one, or, I don’t know, be yourself (which can be pretty scary at times). But you are yourself everyday, so be creative and come in this October in a costume everyone will remember.
