FBLA To Run New Concession Stand
By Karthik Kannapan
This past summer, Williamsville East decided to renovate the athletic fields, creating new and improved football fields, soccer fields, softball fields and tennis courts.
With the expansion of the fields comes something new to East- the concession stand. Located between the soccer and football fields, the concession stand is where people can go to find a variety of food, drinks and candy.
During the new athletics fields grand opening, Friday, September 22, the concession stand will first open, and it will be open during that night’s football game with the Williamsville East Flames vs the Sweet Home Panthers.
The concession stand will be run by the FBLA officers. While it will be a huge event running the concession stand, students have faith in FBLA. Sharon Luo, a junior and co-vice president of FBLA, says, “The concession stand is a really big project for FBLA. We have a lot of responsibility, and it’s an exciting and unique opportunity for us”.
“This is a really great opportunity that our kids can really learn from”, Mr. Scanzuso adds.
Ann Wang, a senior and president of FBLA, agrees with Mr. Scanzuso, stating, “This is a great opportunity for students to learn outside of the classroom. It promotes inter-school unity, bringing together people from business and athletics and getting the whole school involved.”
The students running the concession stand will have enormous amount of pressure Friday night, but it appears that they are more than prepared to meet the challenge.
