The first Coffee House of the year took place on Friday, November 17th, from 7-9, in the commons. Coffee House is an event hosted by Newspaper Club, and it is a great way to spend a Friday night. At Coffee House there was a variety of speciality paninis, including: the Ar-ya hungry, Garretzel Pretzel and the Foul Play. There was also Maclean Cheese, brownies, chocolate chip cookies, bubblegum cupcakes and waffles, with an abundance of toppings. In addition to food and beverages, there was many great performances by East students. Many students sing, read poetry or even do imitations.
This year Olivia Notaro, a senior, is the MC of coffee house. In addition to putting on a lot of great performances, she also introduced all of the wonderful acts and even did some trivia. Some memorable acts included Brennan Mawhinney and his friends dancing, lip syncing, and playing jingle bells to Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas is You.
