What the U.S. Economic Recovery Looks Like
At over 1.7 million coronavirus cases as of May 30th, 2020, most of the country has started to reopen the economy after a multi-month long lockdown. It is important to note that it is almost impossible for everything to just go back to its old self within a few months, but the economy does appear to be taking the first steps of a lengthy road to recovery.
Testing, Testing, Testing: What Does It Mean?
In light of recent events, it’s hard to believe in the world outside. Stuck at home, the string of fires set across our nation in protest break our hearts for all of the people they may impact. It’s hard to remember that 100,000 people have died from COVID-19, and the threat is far from over, when we see images of people gathered in the streets to speak their minds. However, the fact of the matter is the novel coronavirus will likely not subside for months, if not years, and we need to begin to adapt to a life in the midst of a pandemic. The key to this initiative is testing, and it is likely you will have to take some form of the test in the near future, even if you aren’t feeling sick.
Israeli Protests Against Netanyahu
On April 19th, Israelis protested what they saw as a corrupt government using drastic measures to contain the coronavirus. After Benny Gantz, former leader of the centrist Blue and White party, joined Benjamin Netanyahu to form a unity government, leader of the right-wing Likud party, protestors accused Gantz and Netanyahu of destroying democracy in Israel.

Third Party Candidates
In 2016, many people claimed that third parties such as the Libertarian and Green Parties cost Hillary Clinton a victory. Third parties may once again play a crucial role in determining the outcome of the 2020 election.
Kim Jong Un Reappears
After nearly three weeks of speculation on North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s whereabouts, he finally reappeared on Saturday May 2nd. In his absence, several rumours and theories flew around regarding Kim’s health. Many even thought him to be in critical condition, or even dead. Others believed he was self-isolating to avoid the coronavirus (although North Korean reports state their country to be virus free.) Kim has disappeared before and for longer periods of time. In September 2014, he went missing for 40 days. When he reappeared with a cane, South Korean intelligence reported that he probably had an ankle operation, though North Korean media did not explain where he had been.
