I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! Unless you’re a vegan… until now. Vegans are people who choose not to consume any animal products. That doesn’t just mean they can’t consume meat; they also can’t consume cheese, eggs, milk, anything animal-related.

Traditionally, Ben and Jerry’s has always used dairy cream to make its products and thus, nonedible for vegans. In place of the cream, they are now using almond milk. The reason why they have only started making vegan ice cream now is that they didn’t want to compromise their ice cream’s flavor.

Currently, there are only four available flavors: Peanut Butter and Cookies, Coffee Caramel Fudge, Chocolate Fudge Brownie, and Chunky Monkey. Hopefully, this slow progress in increasing vegan acceptance will lead other companies and corporations to find a place for vegans in their hearts as well.
