On September 24th, Apple released the iPhone 13 along with the 13 mini, 13 Pro, and the 13 Pro Max. Apple provided many new colors with the iPhone 13, including shades of blue, pink, and white. Similar to previous iPhones, beginning with the iPhone 7, the iPhone 13 is water-resistant. The iPhone 13 looks a lot like the iPhone 12 but with two main updates — display and cameras.
Concerning the display, the phone is thicker width-wise and heavier due to the larger battery capacity compared to earlier phones. It has a 1.5-2.5 hour longer battery life compared to the iPhone 12. The 13 offers brighter screens for visibility and HDR (high dynamic range). The phone itself has a ceramic glass finish, which is different from previous iPhones. Most notably, the positioning of the back cameras has changed.
All of the 13s have the new wide and ultra-wide camera and the telephoto camera which has three times optical zoom. The 13 and the 13 mini also have new dual cameras, with larger sensors, 12 megapixels, and larger apertures. There are sensor-shift optical image stabilizations on the main sensors. The new ultra-wide cameras can shoot macro photos that automatically switch from wide camera to ultra-wide camera when the camera gets super close to the subject.
Apple has also included the new cinematic mode and ProRes videos. The cinematic mode has new focus tools to help people shooting videos better control focus. There is an AI depth detection that allows you to adjust the amount of fake blur and focus racking, which help the fake blur move smoothly. Using this, you can shift focus automatic while shooting videos or afterwards.
The current prices are 699$/729$ for a 128GB iPhone 13 mini, 799$/829$ for a 128GB iPhone 13, 999$/1029$ for a 128GB iPhone 13 Pro, and 1099$/1129$ for a 128Gb iPhone 13 Pro Max.
