As Thanksgiving break draws closer and closer, the East music department students have another date looming over their heads: November 27th, the day of auditions for Winterfest solos and small groups. As per tradition, it is the Monday we return to school post-break.

It’s that time of year again:  the annual Thanksgiving food drive has started at East, and it will run until November 17. The food drive provides an awesome opportunity to help hundreds of families in Western New York just by donating certain boxed and canned items.

After taking the PSAT exam last October in 2022, 10 Williamsville East students have been announced as National Merit Scholar Semi-finalists! Congratulations to Nathan Wan, Grant Wang, Andrew Jiang, Alexander Liang, Soumyadeep Bhattacharjee, Eric Liu, Zoey Tang, Audrey Fang, Angelina Tang, and Emma Wu! They have the opportunity now to compete for some 7,140 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $28 million, which will be offered in the spring.

Interested in Modeling or Photography? A new club now has a spot for any students looking to improve their skills.

As school resumes and routines settle into place, clubs have become a popular addition to everyone's schedule. Not only do they provide opportunities for social interaction and skill development, but also enhance the overall high school experience.

Science teacher Mrs. Korn is passionate about her job, and she loves her students. She is caring, compassionate, and  really tries to help her students understand what they are learning in class.

Although homecoming is now at its end, the first semester isn’t; there are still many activities and events to look forward to and get involved in. 

The halls of East High were buzzing with excitement as the biggest week of the year, Homecoming, drew near. With a jam-packed schedule of events, themed dress-ups, and a grand finale dance, Homecoming is a time for the entire school to come together and celebrate.

The Williamsville East Girls Swim Team celebrated their final victory as a full team against Williamsville South in their last dual meet of the season on October 10, carrying the team to an undefeated season.
